Minnesota Home Care Revalidation: What You Need to Know

Minnesota’s off-cycle statewide revalidation process, conducted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), is currently underway across the state for approximately 5,600 providers of the 13 high-risk services.

Providers are updating and verifying licensing and compliance information as part of this review.

This process has created temporary uncertainty in some systems, and case managers may notice delays or changes in provider status in state tools or authorizations.

Because of this process, some clients, families, caregivers, and case managers may see delays, pending authorizations, or changes to a provider’s status in state systems.

Circle of Life Home Care remains open and fully operational. Our clients continue to receive care, our caregivers continue to get paid on time, and we continue to accept referrals across Minnesota.

What Is Home Care Revalidation?

Revalidation is a review process that requires home care providers to update and verify information about their business and services.

The goal is to make sure providers meet state and federal requirements. While the process is important, it has also created uncertainty for some providers and the people they serve.

What Does This Mean for Clients, Families, and Caregivers?

For many people, services continue as normal. However, some individuals may hear news about provider delays, licensing issues, or agency closures.

If you rely on Circle of Life for care, our services continue without interruption. Caregivers are working, clients are receiving care, and payroll is being processed as scheduled.

If Your Home Care Provider Is Affected

Learning that your home care provider may be facing challenges can be stressful. If your agency is affected by revalidation delays, licensing issues, or closure, you may have questions about what happens next.

You do not have to figure it out alone.

Our team is available to answer questions, explain options, and help connect people with resources. If a change in providers becomes necessary, we can help guide you through the process and work to reduce disruptions in care.

During times of uncertainty, our role is to provide clear information, caring support, and guidance for those who need it. Our goal is to help people continue receiving the care and support they depend on.

“Home care gives people the support they need to live safely and independently,” Sandy Uwimana, Chief Operating Officer, Circle of Life Home Care “When families face uncertainty, they deserve clear answers and caring support. We want people to know they have someone they can turn to for help, information, and guidance.”
